Colorado Legal Services is a non-profit organization that has assisted persons with low income and seniors in the state of Colorado for over 90 years. The mission of Colorado Legal Services is to provide meaningful access to high quality, civil legal services in the pursuit of justice for as many low-income persons and members of vulnerable populations throughout Colorado as possible.

When you contact us, we will ask you questions to help us figure out if we can help you. The questions will be about your income, your assets and your legal problem.

You will not have to pay for the help that you get from CLS if you meet certain limits of income. CLS looks at your wages and your assets (including bank accounts, etc.) in order see if you qualify to be accepted for help by our program. We also look at the type of legal problem you are having and whether or not we have the resources available to help you.

Some but not all CLS offices can help seniors who are 60 and over regardless of income, but only if the individual problem falls within CLS priorities and if the office has the resources to provide this assistance at the times needed.

You can reach us by calling, walking-in during walk-in hours, or by completing the online application at applyonlinecls.org.

A local tax preparer prepared our 2020 tax return which contained several errors. We had to pay before looking over the forms. We have been trying to get the money back to no avail. We are thinking that legal help would be more than the return of over $300.00

I need help selling my townhome. On 6/2019 me and my ex purchased a town home in Colorado Springs. 9/2018 she broke up with me. I got tired of arguing who got to live in the house even though I put all but 200 of the down payment down, 3300 total with the remaining down payment rolled into a 2nd mortgage. In 7/2020 we agree to sell in 9/2020. She pushed it to 11/2020 and now is saying 1/2021. She won't buy me out and she wont sell the home either. In December of 2019 the home almost went into forclosure. She didn't even tell me I found out from the mortgage company. It was 3 days from foreclosure before she got caught up. I need help to get this townhome sold or force her to buy me out. I can't afford upfront lawyer fees but maybe the fees can be taken from the sale of the home. Please help me Mechelle Freeland 719-660-7631

My husband and I (both over 70/he is a disabled veteran) moved from Oregon and we are trying to settle in Colorado Springs. The movers (Road Runner Moving) picked up our furniture on October 31, 2020. We had problems with prices they gave us when we contacted them and they increased several costs when the movers arrived. They said that we would have one month free storage, and then would be charged aprox. $850.00 a month. No one was able to tell us where our shipment would be stored. I had been told that we would be called when the free storage ended and given instructions on the storage fee. When the month was up, I had not received any information from them, so emailed them. After 6 emails requesting information, I was told the amount would be $1100.00 a month. I sent them a address for delivery to Public Storage on 10/13/2020. Then received an email that it would be loaded in 2-3 days. 6 emails and 3 phone calls later, I still do not know where my belongings and furniture are located or when it will be delivered. On 11/5/2020, I again called to find out information, but was not given anyone that could give me any information. They did give me a text number. However, there has been no response and I don't know how to proceed and resolve our situation, It has been extremely stressful and aggravating for both my husband and myself. That is why we are reaching out to you.
