WE CAN - Women's Empowerment helps with issues that can arise from difficult transitions such as divorce, loss of spouse, bankruptcy. WE CAN services usually begin with a phone conversation or a scheduled face to face meeting with one of WE CANs program staff. This helps a woman to sort out her needs, understand her options, prioritize next steps and begin to stabilize her situation. Through the generosity of Cape attorneys who donate their time, WE CAN offers low and moderate income women a range of free legal services some of which include employment, family law, wills and estates, real estate, landlord-tenant, contracts, debt and consumer issues and immigration.

Although we have weekly consultations, sessions are in high demand, so there is often a wait for a consultation. These one-to-one consultations are held in the WE CAN office and are conducted by reservation only. Call 508-430-8111 for more information or to schedule a consultation.

Mission Statement: WE CAN empowers Cape Cod women of all ages who are experiencing challenging life situations by providing services that bring increased opportunity, self-sufficiency, stability, and lasting positive change for themselves, their families, and their entire Cape Cod community.

Legal Aid Funding
Legal aid professionals and organizations oftentimes receive government funding for taking on cases with those who cannot afford attorneys. For the most part, funding is limited so legal aid entities can only take on a limited amount of cases. Qualifications are often rigid.
