Michigan Protection & Advocacy Service, Inc. (MPAS) is the independent, private, nonprofit organization designated by the governor of the State of Michigan to advocate and protect the legal rights of people with disabilities in Michigan. MPAS services include information and referral, short-term assistance, selected individual and legal representation, systemic advocacy, monitoring, and training.


Mission Statement: The mission of Michigan Protection & Advocacy Service, Inc. (MPAS) is to advocate and protect the legal rights of people with disabilities. We work to fulfill our mission by: Working toward systemic changes that advance the rights of all people with disabilities and Advocating for individual rights when a case meets our board adopted priorities and case selection criteria.

Paying spousal support for 20 years. In a legal separation. She gets my pension and part of my social security. I am 75 and would like to stop working. I can't until this support is stopped.  Can you help?

Looking to get legal guardianship of my "adult disabled child" so I can set up my will. Need to assign a executor of the estate and was told this is how it has to be done. I have her total power of atty now as she cant deal with anything "out of her realm. She gets money, I dont work. We r under the 17k income limit
