I am writing on behalf of my grandson to get some information regarding a collection agency letter he recently received stating that he owed approx. $800.00 - 900.00 for rent at an apartment he rented almost two years ago. At he time, the apartment complex had given him a statement that he owed $0.00 to them, and he moved from the apartment back home when he finished college. He majored in political science but has not been able to find a full time job. He has worked as a referee at the YMCA and as a coach for a girl's soccer team, both part time, which does not pay a great deal, while looking for full time employment. He was floored that he owed money and has been talking to the collection agency who stated that the accounting department of the apartment complex made an error at the time they sent him the balance of $0.00 almost 2 years ago. Is he liable for paying them the money or should he try to fight it out with the collection agency. elf.

Important Information

Legal Aid Funding
Legal aid professionals and organizations oftentimes receive government funding for taking on cases with those who cannot afford attorneys. For the most part, funding is limited so legal aid entities can only take on a limited amount of cases. Qualifications are often rigid.
