Maryland Legal Aid provides a full range of FREE civil legal services to financially qualified Marylanders and people over 60. Maryland Legal Aid handles civil, not criminal, cases. Areas of general civil legal services include: Consumer Rights, Elder Rights, Employment, Family, Farmworkers Rights, Government Benefits, Healthcare and Housing. Maryland Legal Aid’s services are free for financially eligible individuals which is based on income and assets available to the household. Household income must be below 125% of the federal poverty income guidelines.
